This is one of those quick, please read, please pray kinda things.
the ones where i sometimes get in trouble for writing because it is all emotion and craziness…The Mayor of Paudalho (the city where i live), has been kicked out, and the man who ran against him in the elections last year has been put in charge. In a small, northeastern Brasil town, this means everything changes. everything. Right now, downtown Paudalho is crazy. people are violent, and everything is an uproar.
My friends, the family i live with, work at the Mayor´s office. they cannot leave the house because things are so crazy. They do not know what is going to happen, if they have lost their job, or what. Please pray for Junior and Aninha, and so many others who are all in confusion.
Living Stones is also in confusion. The program is working with the PETI program, which is a government program. The government program under the old Mayor. New Mayor, new rules. When the current (new) Mayor was running for office, he told everyone he would cut the PETI program, and only have a soup program, once a day.
Tomorrow we are taking the children to Word of Life, where they get to swim and play all day. This, thank the Lord, was not cancelled, thanks to the generosity of you guys. After tomorrow, we do not know what is going on. We cannot even wear the PETI uniform, because it is too dangerous. it is associated with the previous Mayor.
i really do not know how these things work. but neither does anyone else. it works the same as everything else–pray, and pray some more.
please pray for our safety tomorrow. and for whatever comes next after tomorrow.
