Open Road
I own the open road.
Not the closed road. The road next to the home. The familiar road. The comfortable road. No, the open road. With the feeling of not knowing. A little bit of dizzy heights, a little bit of insecurity with determination of courage, a lot of anticipation, and even more assurance that at the end of the day…it has been a good one.
I own the open road.
The road that stretches to the place you must reach or die. West. Always west, into the sun after a sweaty morning. The open road that leads you to places that choke your breath when you turn to the right or the left. The road that makes you put away your camera–not take it out. Because capturing it in a small box is beyond impossible. The open road is some place familiar touching unfamiliar, calling you deeper and telling you that one day it will be even better. Even truer. Even realer.
The open road is the place you travel to reach rather than use to travel.
May the gift of the open road reach you today.

@Levanna - super-amazing! i just got hired this February, went to KIBH in Oceanside in March, and am flying out Monday to Wake Forrest for FIT on MOnday. what about you? I am very excited about it…still learning all the whooshes and snaps…this will be my first camp…:)

Well, all I can say is you need to give ALL of your Senior Staff a HUGE hug for me. Linds, Lance, Heather… heck, and half the TL staff too. Fit is GREAT there, but be prepared for LOTS of bugs and humidity.
Unfortunately, I did NOT make Fit this year. So, no camp.
Hard for me to see it all around me on my FB and not be there! This would have been my 5th summer with camp. Where are you going post-fit?
@Levanna - i just arrived–and met Lindsay:) i told her you said hello…but then i forgot your name…I wish you could be here! After FIT i am staying at Wake Forest…so i will get to know this area well.

@Levanna - Sorry it took so long to reply–my internet went out the whole time at Wake Forest! anyways, i passed on the hello to Ryan–i think he is working the California circuit now. MAN…it was amazing!!! can’t believe it is over already!!!
